We lived in Oak Park, Michigan for more than 35 years. The entire community is a safe place to raise a family and meet good neighbors. Their streets, parks, schools, and stores are all kept clean. Classroom sizes in their schools are small and recreational areas are filled with activities that embrace the entire community. If you are looking for a safe place to raise your family, where the families are friendly, and the property is affordable, you will be hard pressed to find a better location than a neighborhood in Oak Park, Michigan.

I am not a fan of this city. It’s surrounding environment is disturbing as far as not clean, obsessive night-walkers, strange people. I wouldn’t rate the neighborhoods safe either. I would not let my children go to school here. Poor quality. It attracts the wrong crowd and is saturated with renters that do not keep the property up.
Been living in Oak Park all my life. Was a good city in the beginning but it gets worse and worse by the moment. Just a year ago, our car was almost stolen by a thief in the middle of the night. Thankfully he failed but cost thousands of damages to the car! Most residents around us are new, rude people from Detroit. Oak Park Schools are by far awful and not safe. Would not recommend this city until it gets it's act together.
