I have lived in Oak Grove my entire life and I can confidently say I am very happy with where I am and would honestly live in this area the rest of my life if other life circumstances allow. There is not a whole lot of businesses around, but there are the essentials, however this can be really nice since it is a pretty quiet area and don't have much traffic noise. It is a very nice place to raise kids since it is pretty low crime and has a few school districts around the area that aren't far away (I went to St. Francis), as well as a few parks. I really like this area especially because it is very quiet but you also don't have to drive an hour to get to a large town, Riverdale is 15 minutes away! Also the cities are only about 30-45 minutes away where you can easily find work. I think it is also pretty affordable, since my single mom and I have comfortably lived there by ourselves for about 10 years (with a lower income).
Oak grove is a small town in Minnesota you don’t hear about it very often and when you do it’s for something small. Ironically, when they get the chance the people here are very vocal and are sometimes louder then people in the bigger city’s. They mine their own business and the town is very peaceful. It’s one of the few places where you can scream as loud as you want and no one would say a thing. The only thing I don’t like about this small town is that it’s small and not very diverse. You only see white people and a few asians. I would love to see more races because it would be fun to see more culture from people. In a small town like this you become friends with a lot of people in a very short amount of time, but if you are not careful the whole town can become your enemy.
Very quiet and homely place. I have lots of friends and family that live. There isnt much there, but its a very nice place to live, close enough to the cities but still out in the country a little bit.
