Noxon, Montana is a very small town in beautiful rural Montana. There is a small school, with only about 200 students K-12. While there is only one public school to choose from, and it is very small, it is a very good school for the amount of students there are. All activities are outdoors based, including hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing, and many others. It sits right on the bank of the Clark Fork River, and only a few miles from the Noxon Rapids Dam. There is not much diversity, and it is home to many families and elderly people. There are not many job opportunities, most are at the school, dams, or guiding and logging companies based in the area. Lots of families have to commute to cities such as Sandpoint, Idaho or Thompson Falls, Montana, each about 45-60 minutes away from Noxon to work.
Noxon, MT is a scenic stop on Highway 200 on the Idaho border. Its beautiful mountains and reservoir create the perfect place for camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, and photography. The people are kind and close-knit, and the community works together to build a better future for the town. This being said, it is a very small town on the edge of a poor county. Law enforcement is far and few between, roads are often left in poor condition, and there are not very many job opportunities. This is a great place for people seeking a quiet, scenic lifestyle, especially after retirement.
Noxon, MT is a beautiful town tucked in the mountains next to the beautiful Clark Fork river. It is a very small town surrounded by other small towns. With alot of river fun in the summer it also boasts tons of winter activities also. It is a town that is sure not to disappoint.
