Northport is a city in Tuscaloosa County in the west central part of the State of Alabama. Located on the Black Warrior River across from downtown Tuscaloosa, it is currently the 21st largest city in Alabama with an estimated population of 26,115 in 2019. It incorporated in 1871. It is part of the Tuscaloosa Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Northport, Alabama is a great city to live in! There are many small mom and pop stores and restaurants as well as big name ones. It is also less than 5 miles from The University of Alabama.
The people of Northport are very kind and generous. However, the nearby stores are limited. You must travel to another city, such as Tuscaloosa to eat at a steakhouse. A supercenter like Target and so on. I believe if the town of Northport were to open more businesses it would draw more residences and the economy will boom. Northport is a beautiful place to live in with parks and fantastic schools.
