North Salem Reviews

North Salem's size is its greatest weakness. We do not have movie theaters, places to hang out, or things to do. It is a good retirement town but not the best for raising active, curious children.
I have been living in North Salem for the last 3 years and I like it because it is very safe and quiet. Plenty of trees around, nice restaurants close by, and the commute to the New York City is 1 hour which is not too bad.
North Salem is a very clean and quite town, it is known as horse country. I live off of 116 , right by the reservoir, where I spend many summer days fishing. I catch all types of fish, from Small mouth to large mouth and even lake trout that are over 14 pounds!
Their really isn't much crime in this area. Its probably considered to be a safe living area.
The Community is close to each other. People are Nice and welcoming. Their are places to go to that are within driving distance.
There are not may major employers in this town. Most people work outside the town or in the nearby big cities.
There's not much retail around here. There are a few delis which are good, and a few restaurants, but the restaurants are very expensive. There area few supermarkets but no major stores like Target or WalMart.
