North East Reviews
If you enjoy a small-town feel and are on the more conservative side then this town might be fine for you. There is absolutely nothing to do besides go to China Jade. NEHS is just okay. This town is largely comprised of old people and farmers and people who believe flying the confederate flag is acceptable. The only thing it has going for it is beautiful sunsets and the smell of grapes in the fall. If you want your kids to be raised in a diverse environment this is not the place. Pretty in the summer, gross in the winter.
High poverty level, local grocery store is very expensive, not many shops or restaurants, no nightlife beyond local bars and school district activities, 15 - 20 minute drive to get to reasonably priced grocery stores, shops, restaurants, movies, etc. It was a place to sleep, nothing more.
North East is a very nice town. The community is great and supportive and there is good history in the town. We are all proud of our grapes, which to some people may sound weird. However, when you come from a town that has more grapes rows than it does people with wineries every where in such a small town, you would get a good feeling of just how important those grapes are. To any visitors I would definitely do a wine tour and look into the history of Welch's (Where grape juice and Jam are made).
