My husband and I are current residents of North Caldwell.
It's a town that you look forward to returning after a day at the office or a day out. You feel like you are a million miles away from society but in actuality only minutes from wonderful restaurants, boutiques, parks and activities. It's the best of both worlds!

All in all, a nice place to live and raise a family. Almost completely residential. Good schools. Not far from mass transportation for commuters to NYC, but you’re still looking at an hour + commute at best. West Essex High School is almost like a movie stereotype of an affluent public school setting - jocks rule, cliques, very non-culturally diverse.
Great place to live! A little weak on parks and activities for younger children. Nice pool and nice surroundings.
