Normal is a very good town. I have lived here for 19 years. I have moved neighborhoods multiple times and have loved each one. Everyone in the town is freindly and welcomes everyone in. Normal is a pretty big town full of lots of restaurants, schools, companies, etc. Normal is always adding on to the town. Normal looks out for it's residents by always fixing roads, and helping the community. Normal is a great town.
Normal is a quaint little town whose community actually cares about what goes on in their everyday lives. There are many community events to attend; there's always something going on. It's a college town where students are active, societal members.
Normal Illinois is a very friendly, family oriented, tight-knit community. With good schools, churches and eateries. It also has great parks, libraries and museums. Relative to transportation, yellow cabs, uber and bus services are available. I am not sure of the night life, because I do not partake in it. Although limited, there are resources available for those who fall on hard times. Resources ranging from domestic violence shelters to homeless shelters; mental health services to substance abuse agencies. In fact one of Bloomington-Normal's staple of rescources is PATH, this agency serves the needs of the homeless. However, it also serves as a hotline, volunteer and information center. Housing is affordable in some areas. The police departments are top-notch. Medical cmmunity is favorable.

I enjoy living in Normal. I live near uptown and there are many things to do. It is a quite town for being a college town so it is easy to get things done when they need to get done. Overall, I enjoy living here.
Campus is okay, but once you get off the reservation, residents can be close minded and snooty. Mind you, the majority of town is accepting and liberal, the further away from the town center, the more likely you are to see evidence of closed mindedness and outdated hateful expression.
I attended Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois from 2007 to 2010. It is a very affordable town with 'normal' people. I had a great college experience there without breaking the bank.
Good, nice, quiet and safe. Some traffic lights do not make sense but that is about all I can say is bad in Normal
Normal, Illinois is a great midwestern town. It is big enough to have almost any store, restaurant, or shopping option and at the same time it has a small town feel. There are even a few different college options within our town: Heartland Community College, Illinois State University, and Illinois Wesleyan University. The public school system is good and the town is well-maintained. It is a great place to raise a family!
Great place to go to school because of all the local businesses tailored for college students. The buildings all look nice and the campus is very green!
Normal is a very family-orientated area and so it's especially great for couples wanting a family. It is a safe place. The town has done a great job of helping residents stay active through the many bike trails all throughout and lots of gyms. One nice feature is the Constitution Trail. It extends into Bloomington and is a great way to exercise while enjoying nature (since trees line the trail). The town has several swimming pools, bowling alleys, bars, movie theaters and plenty of restaurants. There are small business places throughout the town, especially in their uptown area. This area is right next to the ISU campus. The Bloomington-Normal area has several colleges. There are usually a variety of events hosted in the uptown area several times a year, which I really enjoy going to. Normal is also surrounded by smaller towns and country roads, which I personally enjoy because I can drive around and star-gaze, etc.
Normal is a quiet town with very little to do. It’s safe and very family friendly. There is a nice trail to run on and a few gyms within the towns. Great place to live, especially if you enjoy eating out as there are a ton of chain restaurants.
Family friendly town with lots of things to do if you have kids. Decent schools, nice downtown area known as uptown normal. Location is perfect about 2 hours from chicago, 45 min from Peoria, and 1 hour from Champaign and Springfield. Far enough to have small hometown feel but close enough to travel to more urban areas. Nothing to do for young adults or people with no children. Just bars and movies so needs to be more things in area for adults to do.
Very friendly and safe neighborhood. There are many great businesses as well as a variety of restaurants. Everything you need is in town.

Normal is a great size. The people here are friendly, and there are lots of things to do. The local leadership is competent and ready to serve the people to the best of their ability.
Normal is such a safe, great town to live at. Though at times their isn't much to do, but there's barely any arrests or at least not major ones you see in the news. People are friendly and caring.
There are many fine restaurants and people. my one reason for cosioning any newcomers is that this is a college town so there are parties often and the pedestrians have a habit of thinking they are the center of everything and therefore the priority so it's up to the driver not to hit them.

I like that everything is so close together like the stores and schools. All of the different places are reliable and family friendly. The housing is very affordable for all types of families and the people are really friendly. One thing that I think should change is the busing from schools because children who live not to far from a school and have to ride the school bus, may have to go to a different school than the one close by.
I have lived in the bloomington-normal area for almost 12 years now. It is a pretty quiet area, and there is not much to do here other than go to school/work, eat out, or go the movies. The area used to be very promising but with corporate state farm's removal of employees its promise is dwindling down.
Normal is a suburban-style town that offers the largest restaurant per capita in the country. The nightlife isn't anything special, but you are a short drive or train ride to Chicago or St Louis.
