I was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia. This is a poverty written location without an enough funding source. residence here monarchs of the community who work hard every day. There aren't many programs for the citizens here. I would like to see the city grow into a community who serves their residence. Provide more assistance and programs for the people. Create more jobs for all people of color. Bring more festivals and activity to change the tone of the city. I am not ashamed of where I am born, I would like to see a change for the better.
I've been living in Virginia my whole life an although some people may consider it boring. I love Norfolk it’s plenty of amazing things to do and you can get to every city from here. The things I would like to see change is better infrastructure and more places to help the homeless people because the number of homeless people have increased alot.
I think there needs to be more effort into making the city cleaner. Have the line scooters & bikes limited as to where they can go. Clean the streets, mow the grass. Have not to many homeless camps/ shelters near downtown so its more inviting
There are so many fun things to do in Norfolk. Between two colleges, multiple rivers, ample amounts of dining options, it is hard to be bored here.
With employment opportunities both downtown and throughout the city, Norfolk is a great place for young arts enthusiasts or foodies-in-training. The Ghent area of Norfolk, in particular, contains endless choices of locally-owned and sourced coffee shops, restaurants, and boutiques. The Norfolk Tide allows folks to zip around the downtown area to visit our galleries, and the Hampton Roads Transit is there for those needing to travel further around Hampton Roads. The walkability of some of Norfolk is great, but there seems to be an endless agenda to scrap local businesses and turn the buildings into new apartment complexes. It is a legitimate concern that this city, especially near the base and large universities like ODU and NSU, will become so overrun with additional apartment buildings and vehicles that the current transit system will soon be insufficient. The cost of living is higher than average, with rent on the rise and unrealistic housing prices for those not in the military.
i was born and raised in norfolk, i currently work from home and i love it, i get to walk around ghent during the day time and enjoy the weather and i usually go to volcano or orapex for lunch
I have lived in the city of Norfolk since the 90's. I can say that I do love my city, the energy and the people. I have learned a lot from the city of Norfolk. Although times have drastically changed over time, there is still much history in my city.
Norfolk is a fine area. Mainly a landing place for military people and families. There is night life and that's fun, plus a bunch of other areas around to travel to if Norfolk is dry. Overall, nice area but I would not stay here forever.
My hometown. Naval presence is heavy, the environment is nice. It's has a nice downtown, good festivities, growing artistic culture, good local universities and in a great part in Virginia
I love living in Norfolk! I don't plan on or want to leave any time soon! I love Norfolk's small town urban charm.
Norfolk is an emerging city. They have been working hard on cleaning it up and have done a good job! The best restaurants are here and many are dog friendly.
Downtown Norfolk is great for a scenic walk, night life and shopping and eating.

Love this place! Beautiful blend of culture and diversity! Blend of big city feel and small community as same time.
Networking in downtown Norfolk is very useful. In my field of work, I meet a lot of people at socials, fund raisers, conventions and more.
Very nice little town, busy. Cute coffee shops, brewery's and restaurants. Down town Norfolk is a cute little city full of night life and shopping.
There are lots of beautiful areas in Norfolk. The community here is strong and there are lots of things to do. However, the crime rate is increasing and there are plenty of dangerous areas as well. The schools here are underfunded but they do the best they can with what they are provided with and have a pretty good academic standing.
Norfolk is a beautiful city and I like it because there are nice places, like waterside, where you can relax and have a good time with your family and friends. The view of the city is also pleasant, and the people are friendly. I wouldn't want to change a thing about Norfolk because it's perfect!
Although Norfolk is full of friendly people, it has its downfalls as well. Norfolk does not keep their roadways properly paved, has great amounts of violence, and is overcrowded. These issues can be resolved by the City of Norfolk, but Norfolk does not try to fix them moderately.
