This is a small town with the energy of a large town. There is shopping, parks, restaurants, fast food, the Chattahoochee River, and so much more. A lot of these things are all within walking distance of each other! I personally love Simpsonwood Park, but there is so much more to do and enjoy. Another great place is Downtown Norcross- a very quaint part of the town with so much to do. The one drawback that I could give is that there is a somewhat large conservative population, but if you are conservative that should be fine. Overall, I think that if I moved to Norcross from somewhere else, I would be very happy here.
Norcross is a nice place to be. While it might not seem like a lot happens, there is a lot to do. Thrasher Park has fun playgrounds and interesting art pieces, and also hosts live concerts and a farmers market! The nearby Lillian-Webb Park offers both a fun place for kids to get wet or a romantic spot at night. There are even movie nights for the whole community free of charge. There's also a street between the two that hosts a bunch of fun stores and restaurants. Unfortunately the infrastructure is a bit lacking, but that shouldn't deter anyone too much.
Personally haven't witnessed a large amount of crime/suffering of any sorts within the community. I believe improvements need to be made within the communities public transportation/walking routes (Ex: sidewalks, cross-paths). It's difficult for local residents to get things done without a vehicle, keep in mind a vehicle is not easily accessible to those belonging to low-income households.
