Newtown Township is a great place to raise kids- especially if your family is very sports oriented. There are so many club and intramural sports in the area.
Biggest complaint is the distance everything is from each other. A car is necessary to do anything (just like most suburbs) and children constantly need rides from one place to another.
Over all great atmosphere and community. Everyone is friendly and supportive as most people are going through the same stages of life- raising a family.

Although Newtown is an expensive place to live and not particularly diverse, it is extremely safe and the standard of living is high. Not only is the education very good, there are many shopping centers and natural parks to visit. The temperatures are mostly mild year round. Unfortunately, the abundance of shops within the historic parts of Newtown itself (in the borough) is slightly undermined by the fact that most of those shops sell pizza or ice cream. As mentioned before, the town is very nice, safe, and beautiful, but hardly diverse or affordable.
I believe that Newtown Township can be easily described by the few words "white, upper-middle class suburb."
