I love almost everything about Newtown. I have had very pleasant experiences with the schools, and I have thoroughly enjoyed participating in some of the extracurricular activities, such as the Newtown High School Marching Band, where we won a US Bands State Championship and a US Bands National Championship in 2017. The community itself is very welcoming and friendly, and I have loved living here for my entire life!

Overall Newtown is a traditionally safe area with generally nice people and good public works. The school system here is typically fairly competitive, open, and explorative. In exception of school administration (which is very much disconnected from the youth) the rest of the facility is very good.
Infrastructure in town is okay— most of the funding goes towards the center of town (the Newtown borough) which leaves the other four boroughs looking worse off and being less easy to navigate. But all in all— it’s a safe area, it’s kept relatively clean of litter, quiet at night, and an okay place to raise kids.
Coming from Westchester County in New York 21 years ago, Newtown was and still is a pleasant change. My children grew up here and they have wonderful memories of this family-oriented town- from the picturesque Main Street to all of the school and library activities. I would move here all over again! Great for family life.
