One of my favorite places on Earth! I love living on the river and seeing all the wildlife everywhere. Elk and cows crossing the road are not uncommon.
I enjoy that it's rather calm and small, not particularly loud or polluted. However, the businesses and schools are less than satisfactory upon communication and handling of issues.
I have lived in Newport for about 14 years. Newport is a growing small town surrounded by a few mountains and the Pend Oreille River. The local businesses are very welcoming. The residents mostly keep to themselves. The school system has many fantastic teachers that make me wish I was still taking their classes.
