Life long resident. Always beautiful in any season. Tourist town. Always events & festival's. Friendly, low crime, parks, Video casino, Naval Base, Mansions, Tennis Hall of Fame, Yachting, parades, and the history alone is worth a trip to Newport. Schooling is good here and getting even better. Salve college and the Community College of RI, private and public schools and the MET School are located here. Restaurants, stores and bars/ pubs are abundant. Expensive to live but worth it. Newport can use things for family activities like bowling and roller skating... Many community agencies and churches are here. Our beaches and seafood are as famous as our city. I love our little "City By The Sea".

Newport is great place to get by the water, rich with local history and good food. Newport offers different sailing experiences, historical tours and parks. Also just a great place to grab a drink alone, and then go read in the park!
Very nice people, the town has great gilded age mansions that are must sees, I personally went to the public schools for a few years and they were very good. I went to Rogers High School and the middle school on Broadway. I also visited later, and there are great restaurants and many activities and celebrations there. The winters there can be rough however.
