I recently moved to Newport Kentucky in 2016 and am extremely happy with the kindness and hospitality of our neighbors and local community. This is a family neighborhood nestled in the midst of a city and a short walk over a bridge to downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. I live in the historic district of Newport and enjoy experiencing the revitalization process of many homes and businesses. My husband and I purchased a 120 year old home and are participating in this historic movement.
Partly what we need in Newport, is support in eradicating the serious heroin and opioid problem. Since the urban sprawl of downtown Cincinnati, Newport has seen an increase in the use of hard drugs. As a small city with many family neighborhoods tucked within an urban environment it is imperative we eradicate this issue that leaves dirty needles littered throughout our sidewalks where our children play and where we walk our dogs.

You won't even notice you're so close to downtown Cincinnati! Restaurants and bars within walking distance, as well as access to shopping. Tourists go toward the river, town-ees stay south.
Nice urban retail and entertainment center. Nice layout, convenient parking, and easy to get to. There are restaurants, stores, movie theater, bowling, etc. There is a Barnes and Noble and Cold Stone Creamery. The Newport Aquarium and the Purple People Bridge are located next to the center. It looked like there were a few empty stores and restaurants, but it was nice place to spend the evening and take a walk along the river.
