Newburgh Town Reviews
Great place to live, work, worship and just exist. Located in beautiful view of the Hudson River, Newburgh boasts affordable real estate for middle-income earners and retirees. Neighborhoods are quiet with great neighbors ! Town is close to major highways, train, and bus for easy access to New York City, upstate, parts of middle Connecticut, Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey. Some local employment opportunities are here, however ready access to transportation allows residents ease of commute to areas mentioned above expanding employment opportunities. Safe place to raise children.
Two of my siblings attended the Wallkill School District, which is excellent and covers the north end of the Town. All of my interactions with the Newburgh School District have been a bit worse, but it seems to be okay. The Town of Newburgh Police Department is excellent, the Fire Departments in the town are okay, and the ambulance companies provide good care, but are unreliable. I have never had any problems with diversity. The city of newburgh to the south tends to have more unsavory people that make the south of end of the town more dangerous. The town taxes are rather high.
The school systems are amazing. I'm graduating NFA in 2017. I've been given wonderful opportunities through out my academic career. Students can graduate with a Security Guard Certificate. Students are also given the opportunity to become a CNA, as high school students who take the CNA/Allied Health Pathway classes, they go to clinical in nursing homes, and are given the opportunity to graduate with a CNA license. I was offered the opportunity to travel abroad during the summer. The clubs I'm in do a lot of community service work, such as helping out the Optimist Club, planing a relay for life fundraiser. Newburgh doesn't have much to do, ice skating, the movies, and bowling. The surrounding areas make up for that. You can drive across the bridge to hike Mt Beacon, or take a stroll down Beacon's Main street, looking in all the cute little shops.
