Newburgh, NY isn't what some would say your "average" city. Crime rates are high, and the unemployment rate is high. We; the people of this city know how to overcome the challenges faced and come together in times of need. You may ask, "5 stars for a high rate of crime and unemployment"? Yes, 5 stars. We grow together, learn together, and struggle together. My family has been blessed to be a good standing family in Newburgh, but if you look beyond the city there are many leadership qualities the people show, and the amount of love people can give. We are Newburgh.

Growing up in Newburgh, it remains to be a very minority robust community. The history that resides here is genuinely wholesome, along with the sweet hangout spots near the water front. However, Newburgh can be unsafe depending on where you stay. In the city, where I live, there is unfortunately violence and crime-- although those factors may be considered common in modern days, it still affects people like myself. If i could have changes in Newburgh, it would definitely be to fix the crime issues.
I’ve been living in Newburgh for most of my life now and as the years went by many things did change, but not as much as I expected. Besides that, it is definitely better than before. I just wish they had more stores and more places to hang out. I believe that the town and city have a lot of potentials, but there isn't anything being brought out the make it better. For me, if I wanted to go and do something like shopping at more store or on a bridge to walk on I will have to go across the river to another city that I live about fifteen minutes away from, yet I don’t always want to do that. I just hope Newburgh will probably fix up more things in the area because the place is very beautiful but many things keep coming and going at the same time.
