Newark is somewhat of a college town due to the location of University of Delaware and Delaware Technical Community College Stanton campus. the centrally located police departments give residents comfort and safety. Noise and wild parties are not necessarily common despite it being a college town. There is main street which houses a wide variety of food options, some of which are open after 11. The city overall is a quiet suburb and relatively affordable. There are some good public schools at the elementary and middle school range. The public high school however could use some improvement. There are a few shops which foster a family environment. There are a few bars and pubs none of which are open later than 1:30 am on any given day. It is a great city to start a family and raise children peacefully.

City offers many programs for the community. Wish they had more city sport teams for children. City is allowing for the building of hotels that make the neighborhood look bad and bringing in bad people and drugs in my opinion. No free city pools or splash parks for the kids to cool off in the summer. Great state parks!
Newark is nice little city to live and it's very lively around the area, mostly near the university of Delaware campus. There's plenty of food places and clothing stores along the main street of University of Delaware, also places for people who like to enjoy the night life. The two best places for people looking to enjoy the night life are Catherine Rooney's and Klondike Kate's. Both places are nice and lively, the only draw back is that all bars in Delaware close at 1:00am so you have to be there sort of early. Beside that its a nice place to live if your a young person. For older people I'm not so sure it depends on your personality. There is a lot of college students partying during the day sometimes, so if that sort of thing annoys I wouldn't recommend Newark. If your fine with being around a bunch of young college kids its a great place to live.
