I have lived here my entire life. I enjoy the nature and wildlife, however it the people here are rather odd and kind of shady. It is nice to live somewhere where it is not too crowded and relatively close to a city. The summers are brutal and winters moderate. The mountains and sunsets are beautiful, so that is a plus. There are a few hiking trails near by. The only problem with that it is almost always too hot out, unless you go early in the morning or late at night. For the most part all of the houses here are only accessible by dirt roads, a few of which are almost impossible to get through. The dirt roads also mean that your car will always be dirty.
New River is a great area with plenty of open space. It is far away from major roads, so there is not loud street noise. Neighbors are friendly but large areas of land mean that you aren't exactly close to them. The downside about living in New River is the commute. Because the area is so secluded, it is a bit of a drive to any area of significance. If you like being out of the hustle and bustle of the city and like your privacy or seclusion then New River might be right for you. As long as you can live with commuting to work, and wherever else you may need to go than living in New Rivers quite, safe and open area is perfect for you.
Super quiet and peaceful, beautiful sunsets. Neighbors are not close, which may be a problem for some people, but is great for introverts.
