I was raised in a military family, constantly moving from state to state. When I met my husband and settled down in New Gloucester Maine, I realized that what I thought I was also missing in my childhood was exactly what I thought: a sense of belonging. Building not only a house but a home has been a transformational experience. About 30 minutes outside Portland Maine you will find the large in size but small in feel town of New Gloucester. Here you will find the New Gloucester Village Store which epitomizes the meaning of what New Gloucester is all about: local products, wholesome food, and the friendliest of people. After experiencing a childhood feeling as if I never belonged, New Gloucester has made me feel all the feelings of pure joy.

Excellent small community very friendly neighborhood people plenty of room great schools taxes are affordable nearby job opportunities county police force only and volunteer fire but very fast response time. Overall wonderful community i have lived here 23+years and plan to stay i own burial plots in new Gloucester. Income is low compared to other areas. Home business opportunities are excellent no public transportation or local taxi, drivers license a must
I like the layout of the town, its location (being near to other, larger towns and cities, while being rural), and the relatively quiet area.
