The New Ellenton I grew up in was almost like a Mayberry. The problem is that we did not realize that at the time. We thought that we were missing something, that the world was passing us by. Truth is, we had so much that people looked for then and greatly miss today. Sadly Mayberry is gone, and the people of New Ellenton are being replaced with those who do not know of, remember, or appreciate our past. What a great place to grow up.

The area is very rural and while the town tries to make an effort to bring the community together, everyone just does things on their own terms. The schools and people are wonderful, but please be aware of the more rural areas.
