New Britain is a city with a very rich history due to the city being a former hub of innovation and manufacturing, however, there is very little of that now in the city. Good jobs are not easy to come by, housing and taxes are expensive, and overall the atmosphere is not the most pleasing. However, New Britain has a strong sense of community, empowerment and diversity, bringing together many backgrounds and different people together and allowing them a chance to make something great of themselves. Many wonderful and cultural businesses are open, catering to the community at large and many organizations help with running the city. Being raised here, I feel very proud of our city because even though it may not be the prettiest or the richest, it has the spirit of community, diversity and empowerment in all aspects.

New Britain is a small city in the district of Hartford, CT. There is one public High School that is very much overly crowded and three public middle schools. New Britain is very diverse with a large population of Polish and Spanish speaking people. The city is also very family friendly with our many parks and activities for all ages. You will certainly find some great opportunities here but many of the residents seek career opportunities from other nearby towns such as Newington, Farmington and Bristol. The people of New Britain often wear great pride in it being their hometown, as do I and as I always will.
It is a very nice and quiet city. Roads need some work. Stores are a bit far away so you need to drive or take the bus, busses pass every hour so if you miss it you either walk or wait an hour for the next bus. Other than that it is a really nice place very peaceful. Schools are great. It would be nice to have another public high school because there is only one.
I have lived here for about twelve years and rent has been really affordable. I lived in New York before I moved to Connecticut and that was the reason why I moved, rent in New York went up so bad and my dad lost his job. We came to New Britain to visit family and we considered moving out here so we started looking for apartments and found the perfect apartment. My dad and mom were able to find a job so quick they went to look at a job and were hired right away.
