The overall atmosphere in Madison, NC is okay. Many of us that have grown up in Madison rarely attend college. The job prospects are extremely low in the specific area. If I had to do all of this over again I would most likely decide to reside elsewhere. Although I am very focused on obtaining a college degree, it is very hard when most of your peers decide not to.

Crime really is not that prevalent in my community. However I very rarely see police in my community. Since I live more in the rural area of my city, cops do not come around much.
You can get everything you need in this area, but not everything you want. There are hardly any clothing stores or good restaurants.
