Nederland, itself, is a great little town. It leans more towards conservative, they are very unified, they have amazing football spirit, involved in the community, etc. They have a lot of old school car shows, they have a yearly fair, good bbq food, we also have a lot of surrounding Vietnamese, Thai, and Mexican food. The only downside to Nederland is that the surrounding city, Port Arthur, brings crime into the area. This is probably a place to raise a family because there is extremely limited places for night life and depending on the crowds you want around you, not a lot.

Its conservative and has great friendly people. The high schools are very good as well. The teachers have built a friendly culture. We also live breath and sleep football down here as well. All of the sports are very strong as well so basketball soccer tennis we have it. It is the normal safe white picket fence town to live in. It is also fairly close to Houston for bigger things to do. I do say the plants down here are the only main concern. They could blow up and kill everyone but hey thats what runs the eco down here.
One thing I can say about Nederland is that it is a pretty close community, that puts a lot of care into the school activities. Nederland is not the biggest city but it does have a lot of passion for its own community. I will say though that Nederland could use some more fun things to do.
