Nederland, CO is a small town nestled in the Rocky Mountains. It has beautiful views of the Continental Divide and is located near plenty of hiking trails. Up the road is the world-famous Eldora Ski Resort that acts as a great local recreational outlet and tourist attraction. That being said, Nederland is best suited for a visit rather than being a permanent home. If you're lucky to find a place to rent, it will cost upwards of $1400 per month, unless you're looking to rent only a room. The buildings were generally built in the 50's and have a charming look and feel to them, but need a lot of upkeep. The shopping scene is unique as it is made up mostly of small businesses featuring goods you wouldn't find anywhere else. There are lots of neat things to discover in Ned, but livability-wise, it can be inconvenient.
Nederland is a town of hippies and those shunned by "normal" society. It is where the rejected go to find community. We are all different, strange, and special. While the town is small and lacks a lot of cheap housing, we take care of our own, and we are vehemently protective of each other. Locals will defend their friends and family with everything they have, and I could not ask for a better place to call home!
Roads aren’t great but resources including stores and entertainment are adequet. Nederland is right outside of Eldora Mountain Resort which makes skiing a very convenient winter activity. The education at the high school level is amazing, some of the most dedicated teachers in district.
