Great neighborhood, people are generally friendly. Helicopters are pretty often around here, but there’s definitely a sense of community in the area. A lot of diversity, you’ll meet someone from every walk of life in Winnetka. A lot of little mom and pop stores in the area that sell really good food if you’re willing to take a chance. Winnetka is also very close to everything in the valley; It’s like we’re the middle ground for a lot. About 5 minutes away from Canoga, 10 minutes away from West Hills/Woodland Hills, 20 minutes away from Calabasas, and about 45 minutes away from the beach. We’re pretty much close to everything. Pierce Community college is also very close.

My experience living in Winnetka is significantly much more better then when I lived San Fernando Valley. When I lived in the valley there was no way of knowing when you would have a peaceful night of sleep. You would hear helicopters rotating around the neighborhood, the sirens of the police cars, the roaring sound of cars racing down the street. You couldn’t even hang out with friend because your parents had this thought implemented in their brains that if they let there kids go out pass a certain time, that they wouldn’t see them ever again. Now that I live in Winnetka the environment feel totally different, which I did not expect. My neighbors in Winnetka are the type to help one another instead of turning their backs hoping the message of leaving came. You can have a finally breathe the air and feel the calmness enter your body. I can say that moving to Winnetka was not a mistake.
Winnetka is very nice to live in. The atmosphere of this particular environment is usually calm and soothing, and is relatively safe for the most part. There are many public schools within this area, and is friendly to all age groups. This area is not expensive to live in, and the traffic is not even near as intensive as the traffic in cities such as Los Angeles. My only real complaint about this area is the lack of job opportunities; very few job opportunities are open at a time in this area, which may make some individuals have a hard time settling in/being accustomed to the lifestyle needed to live in this area.
