I've lived in Westwood since I was born. I've grown to appreciate just how nice of an area this is. Everything you need is within walking distance, or for those of us that drive, within a 10-minute drive. That includes groceries, a village with stores and restaurants, movie theaters, malls, and more. The only reason I do not give it 5 stars is becuase of how expensive the real estate has become. I remember when the most expensive house used to be 1.5 million. Now, there are homes that sell for 5 million. Other than that, great neighborhood to live in

Westwood is a very cute neighborhood, with some great restaurants and places to shop. The nightlife is pretty much limited to two bars - Barneys and Rocco's. During weeknights, these bars are packed with UCLA students, but they are still pretty low key bars. The neighborhood is clean, and during the winter they cover the trees with pretty lights that make it look somewhat magical. Parking in Westwood is impossible/expensive though, unless you're planning on going to Whole Foods, Target, Ralph's or Trader Joe's (who have their own lots). Otherwise you might be driving in circles for 30 minutes trying to find an open meter.
Westwood is a pretty good college area of Los Angeles, catering toward UCLA students with plenty of eateries and movie theaters that add historic value and flair to the area, all walking distance from campus. Plenty of public transportation stops in the area, although increased commute time diminishes use, despite convenience. Because of the large amount of college students in the area, rent prices are very high for the quality of the apartment and parking can be pretty difficult due to competition between UCLA students, UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center, and others who live/work in the area.
