I've lived in Texas, Florida, Nevada, and California, and now Boise, and I can hands down say this is my favorite place out of all of the places I've lived. The city is just the right blend of big city and small town. I feel like, for the most part, people are friendlier, and there is always something to do! For outdoorsy people, Boise is perfect, we have many hiking trails, rivers, and lakes to go explore.
I come from a background of hard work and efficiency. The place I go is Lowes. Lowes offers just about the same amount of variety as the other leading hardware stores. Here is the kicker that allows them to be different in my mind. Their customer service is quite phenomenal! I walked in one day to grab a pipe and some other materials (Making a foundry to melt aluminum for a hobby). I walk up to one of the people wandering around, and tell him my project. Believe it or not, he actually knew exactly what I was talking about. I actually exchanged numbers with the guy, because he had his own melting foundry at his home. Anyways, he lead me straight away to the places I needed to go. He was fantastic, kind, and very knowledgeable. I've been to Home Depot quite a few times in my life, and its always been a hit or miss when it came to my kind of projects. So far I will be continuing to shop at Lowes.
I always tell people that no matter where I end up traveling in my life, I want to settle down here, because it's so safe! There's not a lot of crime, and the little we do have is usually rather mild. The police are known for cracking down on criminals, so people don't usually mess with that. The neighborhood watch is very prevalent throughout all neighborhoods. I feel extremely safe here.
