West Loop is an up and coming Chicago neighborhood, located just across the river from the central Loop. It has great dining and night life options, with more being added all the time. Apartments / housing is expensive but good deals can still be found in the surrounding neighborhoods. The vibe of West Loop housing is the "loft" style - exposed brick, timber, and warehouse elements - due to the industrial past of the neighborhood.
Awesome neighborhood in downtown. One of the safest and richest part of Chicago. There is nice restaurants and skyscrapers. I love it here!
I recently moved to the West Loop a week before Christmas. So far, I am loving the neighborhood, all of my neighbors are great, the food options are endless, and the night life looks like it is great. I would recommend any young people just moving to Chicago to look into the West Loop.

I have grown up there and seen many changes. I think there should be more diverse opportunities through the neighborhood instead of solely upgrading through gentrification.
Great neighborhood for easy access to award-winning restaurants and to many offices downtown. While it doesn't have the neighborhood feel of a Lincoln Park, it's great for urbanites!
Culturally diverse neighborhood with A+ public transportation and a great walking score. There are plenty of restaurants and stores.
Great area very close to downtown. Nothing is too far, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is exciting, the people are friendly.
Its a growing and up and coming diverse community. There are many families as well as single individuals. It is easy to get around by foot or by car. It is near to two major expressways so it makes it easy to get to other parts of the city.
Great neighborhood, grew up here and lived here. The elementary schools and high schools in the neighborhood are high achieving. There are a variety of shops and restaurants, as well as markets for buying fresh foods. I have never had a problem with not feeling safe, and the people you meet are friendly.
As far as Chicago goes this is a safer area. That being said, it is still Chicago.
Conveniently located. Great restaurants all around. Crime is low. Noise levels better than a lot of other places in the city.
