Valley Village is a quiet neighborhood with a lot of great schools nearby. I've gone to school locally, all public schools, at Colfax Elementary, Walter Reed Middle School IHP, and North Hollywood High School HGM. They have a great neighborhood council and Homeowners association, which means a lot of people caring about the well-being of the neighborhood.
Quiet and cheap; It is a great place to start your Los Angeles journey. If you're moving out from just graduating college, it is a lovely place to live. The nightlife is not located in Valley Village (unless you're over 30) but just down the street is the hub of 20-something year old fun.
Would definitely recommend the great rates and quiet atmosphere.

Valley Village is a very quiet neighborhood! There are really good schools nearby (an elementary school, middle school, and high school), with great music programs for students. The neighbors are all really friendly, and there are lots of good supermarkets closeby.
