I take a walk in my neighborhood every evening to look at the amazing residential architecture and neighbors homes. It's such a quaint space in town, not to mention walking Magazine Street or Saint Charles for shops and bars!
The uptown area is a great place to live, work, and study. There are many shops and restaurants to enjoy, with also many quiet streets to live on. Love the uptown area!
It's quiet in certain areas and some are really nice. The streets could be fixed though, and certain neighborhoods should be fixed up a bit more. Also, the fast food places have horrible employees minus Raising Canes and Rallys. There isn't much to do uptown, there aren't many places for teenagers to hang out or really anybody. There are a lot of restaurants and shops though.
While there is rarely any serious crimes in the area, because there are vast differences in socioeconomic status within a small area, there is occasionally petty crime or car theft. However, the police in e area are very good about resolving these situations.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the city than my neighborhood, maybe nowhere else in the world. What isn't win walking distance (which most things are) the streetcars are right down the block and will take you anywhere in the city for $1.25. Everyone is so friendly to each other, whether it be your neighbor or just a stranger walking past your front porch. Everyone says hello, smiles, and asks "how ya doin'". While the crime in the city is rising, everyone takes care of everyone, so you are still very safe.
