Uptown is a busy neighborhood bordering many lively neighborhoods, including downtown Dallas, Deep Ellum, Knox-Henderson, and lower Greenville. In my experience, it has made for the perfect neighborhood for me, a 24-year-old woman, to live in. There are always people out and about, which makes the area feel safe, though there has been some crime in the neighborhood. I have yet to experience any sort of crime. Uptown is very walkable with many businesses, bars, restaurants, and shops in short proximity from my apartment. Overall, my experience with uptown has only been positive.

The neighborhood is full of extremely diverse restaurants and people. The trails are always full of people, promoting a healthy lifestyle. There are many condos that always have units available for moving into. The streets always have bikers, runners, and people simply strolling and enjoying the trails and many shops in Uptown. Uptown is very family friendly and carry and sense of safety and community. I plan on living in Uptown for a very long time!
The criminal element is everywhere but the 8 years I've lived in the Uptown area has been very pleasant. I was raised in south Dallas fair Park area where every other night something bad was going on. Fortunately I've been able to raise and care for my 3 children in a more decent environment. What I dislike about Uptown is the grocery stores. Supply and demand! The stores are never fully stocked. The area is steady growing.
