Mixed review: The neighborhood had gotten increasingly worse since 2020. Im 26 and I’ve lived here for over 3 years and have had 5 strangers try to enter my home since moving here. I’ve had to call the police on several occasions to come to my home because of this. I’ve also walked in two armed store robberies since moving here. Tahoe park’s safety varies: for instance, if you live off the main 65th st expressway there is significantly more foot traffic where crime will be more common. If you live in the inside of Tahoe park close to the actual park itself it’s peaceful and there is less crime. At night I’d avoid the park. There is a lot of drug use/homeless issues that go on at night. During the day it’s great for exercise and family activities. Neighbors are friendly and helpful. A lot of accidents happen on 65th st, on two occasions they hit electric poles next to my house, crashed into part of the church etc. 2 shootings happened in 2022. Tip: Own a large dog for protection.
It's a quiet and peaceful area with a nice park and close elementary school. You are located right next to highway 50 which makes commuting extremely easy. Shopping and food are less than 5 minutes away. The only issue is sometimes people will drive a little fast, but the neighborhood stop signs keeps everything safe.
Tahoe Park could use a face-lift. There are some good businesses nearby but also a few not so great ones.
