I am new to the California area and have only so much to say. I am a student commuting up to an hour a day to get to school and attend my classes. The area in the city is absolutely beautiful and such an upgrade from where I used to live. The transportation and the convince of it are incredible. All the people and neighbors are lovely people, very sweet and generous. I am quite in love with the area already, I am planning on staying here. This is perfect as I am very comfortable living here.
I enjoy Studio City, however recently there has been quite a bit of trouble with the homeless population. While I do feel safe during the day, at night, especially near the freeway overpasses, is quite a different story. There are quite a bit of walkable areas around Studio City, however, because of the homeless population, it can be a bit unnerving. Overall, I do enjoy this area, as it's perfectly in the middle of most of the city. If you need to get to Hollywood, it's only a quick drive away. In addition, while you're close ENOUGH to the hustle and bustle of the city, you're not too close that you feel like you're in the middle of the "crazy".
Studio City is overall a very comfortable city with a wide variety of retail stores, cafes and restaurants. Although expensive, the quality of the neighborhoods and people make it worth it.
