I think Streeterville is the best neighborhood in the city. It is safe, has the best shopping and restaurants , and close to Navy Pier and the Lakefront !!!
Streeterville is busy with plenty to do in whatever direction you go in. Right next to the medical district downtown Chicago (Northwestern) a short walk from the Loop and Navy Pier.
I lived in Streeterville as a student going to Northwestern. It was welcoming community filled with architecture, a museum, cafes, and parks!
The only thing I don't like is the dog poop on the cement. Streeterville:shopping, restaurants, views of the lake, navy pier.....what else do you need?
Streeterville is a windy neighborhood by Lake Michigan, and perhaps the coldest and wettest that I've known in the great city of Chicago. Yet it is close to many high-end restaurants and stores such as Niu and Whole Foods, urban attractions such as Navy Pier, and many transportation routes including buses, individual transport and green transport. It's an overall good place to go for diversity in entertainment and a practical place to be - especially for those such as myself who appreciate cold weather.
Very safe. People are always out.
Right in downtown Chicago, yet there is still a neighborhood feel. Close to all stores, businesses, culture, and amenities of the city.
