Within walking distance my immediate area is a food desert. Within five miles we have a Kmart, a Walmart and two malls. About four major movie theaters within five miles of my home.

Bus service is decent. But you really need a car to get around.

Most people in this area work for the government. We have four Naval bases around here as well as Marine and Army base. I don't see the area changing much in the next five years. Minimum wage jobs are plentiful.
