Rogers Park has been an overall wonderful experience for me. The neighborhood is rich with diversity, something that Chicago should embrace more considering it is the MOST segregated city. I appreciate walking about seeing various complexions and hearing different languages. I also have the option of treating myself to various ethnic foods including; American, Haitian, Indian, Vegan, Ethiopian, Japanese, Jamaican and Greek.
I joke that safety in the area keeps you on your toes. If someone is walking toward you, they may greet you... or just rob you, you never know! Safety could definitely use some improvement and there should be more neighborhood watch initiatives.
All in all, Rogers Park is one of the better decisions I've made.

Rogers Park is a great location for college students since Loyola, Northwestern, and North Park campuses are close by. There’s a plethora of ethnic foods to try for any foodie- Indian, Senegalese, Ethiopian, Greek, and more! There are more chain restaurants close to campus which allows students to get meals taken care of even when schedules get really busy. Locations for Target, Aldi, Walgreens, CVS, Whole Foods, and Cermak are scattered around and easily accessible. For people interested in nightlife activities, Rogers Park has its own bars, but also Uptown is pretty close where there are jazz bars, a theater, and late night bars with chill vibes.
Rogers Park is the most beautiful and affordable neighborhood in the United States of America. The softest sand beaches, the most beautiful diverse community, and best of all its cheap! And no, it is not dangerous at all. It's safe and neighbors say hello on the street.
