Very safe, and the people are friendly. The majority of members are older considering that the neighborhood is surrounded by fifty-five and up communities. However, there has been continuous road work for the past three years throughout the neighborhood, which has caused traffic, smells of sulfur, and loud noises.
Rancho Bernardo is a safe and friendly community that has been close to home and the center for family gatherings as my grandparents live there. The area provides a variety of premium shops, restaurants, and services. Its residents are friendly except through their treatment of workers since I work at a minimum-wage job in Rancho Bernardo. Lastly, it is central to many urban centers and popular locations such as Del Mar and Oceanside.
Not much to do but that comes with its pros and cons. Not much crime other than graffiti and car, and sometimes house break-ins. Its a place you need camreas and locks but nothing overly protective. Good place to raise young kids but for teenagers/young adults there isnt much to do. Nice views and trails and some good resturants
