In my experience, the Pocket Neighborhood is a very safe and friendly neighborhood. I’ve lived in 2 separate areas in the Pocket Neighborhood and in both of them my neighbors were kind and respectful. The reason Pocket is a great neighborhood is because it has plenty of beautiful homes, nice stores and restaurants, great schools, and beautiful parks and bike routes along the canals. One thing I wish would change is the amount of participation and spirit in the neighborhood. Sure individuals are nice and welcoming to each other, but I can’t say I’ve seen a lot of events that bring everyone together. I can’t remember the last time I’ve heard of a parade or any other event in the area. If there have been those events then the problem is advertising. I would love to go to these events, but I never actually hear about them. In the future we should do more community events and make them available for everyone in the neighborhood.
I have lived in this neighborhood for more than 3 years. It is an old and safe neighborhood in Sacramento, with easy access to highways, midtown and downtown. Short drive to Delta shore (huge shopping center). People are friendly. It is quite neighborhood with good local restaurants and grocery stores.
I just recently moved to the area after accepting a new job and so far it’s been great! Definitely the more quiet part of Sacramento.
