Love the area! Everything is walkable and there are a ton of young families. Very safe area and strong community. However, the rent and real estate are a bit pricy..
It has very nice, new apartments that are easy to commute to LMU. It is a safe place to live as a college student and for young people starting their careers or families.
Playa Vista is an ideal neighborhood for students to share a 2 or 3 room apartment with friends. One of the biggest pros would be gym and pool access being offered in all Playa apartment buildings. The convenience doesn't even end there. The "Runway Playa Vista" is a center filled with restaurants, a Whole Foods, a movie theater, and a weekend out-door market. Another plus of Playa is that it's relatively quiet compared to Santa Monica and Downtown LA, but at the same time is close by to everything. PV is approximately 10 minutes away from the airport, 10 minutes from the beach, 15 minutes from Santa Monica, and 30 minutes from Downtown. In addition to that, Playa Vista is home to a large amount of tech and entertainment companies like Youtube, Fox, and Google. For a student, it's a good area to build relationships and seek mentorship.
