For anyone who likes cool temperatures, San Francisco is the place for you! However, one downside is that while there is an abundance of public transportation available throughout the city, it does not come cheap, with a charge of $2.25 per bus ride. Invest in a clipper card and you'll save a lot of money. There are many things to do and many places to visit in this city, and anyone that likes to go out a lot will find never not find anywhere to be. If I lived in an area with more things to do, then I would live here again, but in this location there isn't much without having to ride the bus and it can get very boring.
I live right next to San Francisco State University, and along with being a student there, I wish it could be a college community where they don't raise the prices because they know that students will pay raise with no questions asked. The people in the community come in conflict with the students in the area which bring more issues that anything. It is very unfortunate that the community is not just college students but this will flow on the cities inability to provide affordable housing in the city and away from the University. The feel of a college lifestyle in limited but nonetheless, my biggest issue is the hikes in prices to make students pay more.
San Francisco is home to a wide variety of different cultures. There is plenty of restaurants to choose from. From going to the pier for seafood, Chinatown for Chinese food, J-town for Japanese food, Downtown for all kinds of food, all little shops within 20 minutes of eachother. My favorite restaurant is near lands end and it's called Pacific Cafe and it has amazing clam chowder. The nightlife is spectacular, The Castro, which is the Rainbow District, is very lively at night time, especially during the holidays. Definitley a good idea to get a cookie from a place called Hot Cookie.
