Old Town Reviews
The neighborhood is absolutely beautiful and very central to the city and the lake. It is incredibly safe and has one of the lowest crime rates in the city. Its parks and play areas are very well kept up. This neighborhood is perfect for families and older people. The housing prices and rents tend to be fairly high, especially in the historical districts, and depending on where you live there may be very little night life to explore. The neighborhood is, however, populated with great small businesses, has a fantastic sense of community, and is ideal for children.
Old Town is a vibrant neighborhood and has many entertainment venues, from restaurants to shopping to movie theaters. It's a convenient location and has nice features/environments.
barley any crime, very safe neighborhood, feels like the suburbs, this really is one of the best spots in all of chicago. Its not what it shows on the news, this is one of the best parts of chicago. Its very family friendly and me and my 2 kids have never had to go through any of the problems you would have to go through if you were in the hood. There are many job opportunities as well, and many young college students going to their classes.
