This is an great neighborhood with awesome location. Centrally located between some of best areas in Oakland, including Lake Merritt, Uptown/Downtown, Piedmont Ave and Grand Lake. Is it is a quiet neighborhood yet steps away from nightlife and best restaurants in Oakland. Does not get any better!

Living around Harrison St. or the North-Eastern Lake Meritt District often seems intimidating to many who aren't from around Oakland. In fact, moving anywhere in Oakland seems scary. But living in this neighborhood has honestly been the best place I've ever lived in my life. There is lots of access to public transit, including BART, the free Broadway bus, local buses, rental bikes, etc.... There are also tons of local boutiques, unique theaters, bookstores, and markets close by. This area has the added benefit of being the midpoint (ish) between downtown and the Grand Lake area, or the two best areas of Oakland (in my opinion at least). Even at night I rarely feel unsafe, especially walking by the lake. This area is also very close to some of Oakland's major schools, public and private, almost all of which are walkable or bikeable. I never tire of living here and quite frankly, would recommend it to nearly everybody.
I am living Oakland Ave almost 5 years and I also often walk to Harrison St the side which is close the Lake Merritt. Basically I feel those streets are good, like Harrison St was updating the road, that look like more beautiful. There have at least 3 school I knew are at the Oakland Ave. I think is very good for students go to school, because school is close their home. People who are living at Oakland Ave, they are very nice and friendly. We can chat and greet. There also have markets, my family always go to there to buy food and daily supplies. The best thing I like is there is close Lake Merritt, I always run around the like. Even though this is nice place, but my neighbor told me someone stole his plants and someone I don't know was climbing my house yard. But I still like living Oakland Ave.
