Norwood Park Reviews
Norwood is a safe, small area with good schools and a great community. I graduated from Norwood Park Elementary and it was an amazing school to attend. The people are all nice and welcoming. The parks are also clean and well set up. It's also located very close to transportation; the Harlem and Northwest Highway buses, Harlem blue line, and metra line are all within walking distance, taking you into suburbs or the city. The only con I can think of is the lack of restaurants and shops around the area. There's a few here and there, but I would love to see it become more of an attraction.
Norwood Park is singlehandedly the best place to grow up. With the vibes of the suburbs, but a location 15 minutes from the city (with no traffic) there is a great sense of family in the neighborhood. Furthermore, there are always things to do and fun to be had (especially in the woods if you're a teen), and great schools. Also, since every other person on your block is a firefighter, cop, or city worker, it is a very safe place to live and there are no feelings of superiority.
Affordable family neighborhood in the city of Chicago. Great schools both public and private. Good restaurants and bars nearby. Close to expressway. Close to public transportation. Easy access to everything. Lots of police officers and fire fighters live in Norwood Park which makes it a very safe neighborhood. Many parks for the kiddos. Suburban feel yet still in the city. Taxes are low compared to the nearby suburbs.
