I have seen fights in family and children friendly places all over a parking spot. Or road rage has really gotten out of hand, where people purposely rear end someone and/or break hard to get rear ended. My University will send text alerts of a sexual assault reported, they reported two just in the last month. This does not count cases that have not been recorded. Also the campus police department at least once or twice a month report a gunman on the campus property to avoid this area, the good thing is the police resolve the matter quickly. However, it is the frequency of how many times the reports have been happening.
I am a very picky eater and I love the food here. The River walk has some great restaurants that my friends and I enjoy going to such as Fudruckers (hamburgers) The Rainforest Cafe (pasta), and Rosario's (Mexican food). The outdoor mall, La Cantera also has some of the best restaurants I have ever had. The Cheesecake Factory, La Vena, and The Kona Grill. These types of restaurants have all kinds of foods and are good for when you want to eat something amazing and affordable, but in a more fancy type of environment. My favorite restaurant is one that recently opened in my area and that is In-N-Out Burger. The burgers, the fries and everything about it is amazing! It is always crowded, but the service is great, and they have enough workers to give just enough attention to each customer. The wait is not even too long, maybe 15 minutes tops. Which is really good because that place gets so packed you can barely breath sometimes.
Sometimes this area does not feel as safe as it use to. The traffic has gotten horrendous as far as drivers not using blinkers and law enforcement not pulling many reckless drivers over. I do appreciate some of the citizens in this area, most are generous in conversation or simply holding the door open. I also love the university I attend, because the professors and students are all passionate in whatever field they are teaching or studying.
