This is the best neighborhood in Chicago, hands down. I feel extremely safe and many families live in the area so it's very welcoming. There's a lot of great businesses that are hard to come across in other neighborhood. It's not diverse, although I do not feel like an alien in this area. People are friendly and warm. Roscoe Village has a tight bond that allows the neighborhood to stay safe. I've lived her for about 8 years now and I love how close everything is to me. I would recommend this area for people who are ready to settle down and start a family.

I love living in North Center. There are many places, such as restaurants and shops to visit during the day and night. The houses are well-kept and it is very family friendly. The schools around the area are extremely high ranked and are all very safe. I never have issues with feeling unsafe or in danger.
In my immediate neighborhood, there are numerous restaurants, ranging from a really fantastic Thai place that specializes in takeout to a local brewery with amazing burgers. Along with a couple Starbucks, there are a handful of local coffee, as well as bakeries and cafes, like a cupcake shop that just opened up a few months ago. There is a cute shopping square a twenty minute walk away and a library about fifteen minutes away. One can walk through either the neighborhood or along the business and main restaurant street and both are a nice walk. The neighborhood is pretty laid-back and a great place to walk around. Downtown Chicago is about a thirty minute train ride away and is a scenic ride if you take the above ground train line. I would highly recommend both my neighborhood and the downtown area as places for tourists to see, as each provide a different aspect of Chicago!
