I lived in Newton Highlands for a couple of years and found it to be a very calm and safe neighborhood. One of my favorite places is definitely Hemlock Gorge; there is always something new to find there!
Clean and friendly. The abundance of trees beautify the neighborhood. The public schools operate at a high level. The Green Line is an excellent way to commute into Boston for work or leisure activities. Newton Highlands and Newton Center offer two hubs of entertainment.
I think this area is very safe, and you feel that around the neighborhood. But there are sometimes suspicious characters that may make it feel a little less safe
