Montbello is a place that is home to many humble people. There is not much racism because of the density of minorities that live here. However, there is violence in our neighborhood. From young men and women that do not know any better. I wish our neighborhood had the resources to transform these men and women into professionals or at the least, decent people. I am comfortable where Montbello is because it is in the far northeast, away from the density of the city but also its neighboring neighborhoods that represent that translation of many families that used to once live in Montbello.
Montbello is the perfect area of families and investors. It is in walking distance to the wildlife preserve. From the light rail you can get to down town in 15 min. The homes are big and on large lots. The city is working hard with "safer streets" to add more bike lanes and make it easier and safer for people to walk around. With North Field, Stanton and Green Vally next to use there are a ton of things to do!!! with home values in the mid to low 300,000 you are starting to see an explosion of fix and flips. Also homes being updated. Great neighborhood if you have a 5 or 10 year outlook. Might double your home value in the process!!! Side note - Montbello high school closed and now is in north field and ranks #1 in Denver county.
I moved to this neighborhood about 8 years ago and I really love it. There's two sections of montbello, one side is newer and has more two story houses and the other side is older but it doesn't have a home owners association so you have a lot more freedom to decorate as you please. It's a very safe place and has two plazas nearby. There's two grocery stores nearby as well as a nail salon, a dry cleaners, a restaurant, a little Cesar's pizza, Subway, Wingstop, and a laundromat. There's a planet fitness in the other plaza and a weight room in the montbello recreation center and a pool. Outside of the rec center there's a nature trail that lots of people use.
