I really do like this neighborhood. While yes, there is a lot of trash on the streets. And yes, it does get very loud at nights, but that's just regular San Francisco. You won't be able to escape that anywhere in San Francisco. The Mission District has tons of great shops, food, people and history. You're basically in the heart of the LATINX community. And while I do dislike drunk teenagers quoting Mean Girls lines at 3:00 in the morning on a Thursday, I can get over that. Living in the city is just so interesting. We've also got many parks surrounding the district so you can take a breather, walk your dog, or just sit in the sun if you'd like. I really like the Mission, and while it does have it's problems, it's still an entertaining place to live in.
Mission is a highly populated neighborhood in San Francisco with a lot of diversity and culture. The food and shops are by far my favorite experience of living in this district, while the high rate of crime is my least favorite. The people in this neighborhood are very fascinating as well, and the proximity to the beauty of Dolores Park is amazing for young people who love the beauty of the nature there.
I have grown up in San Francisco - the inner mission for 23 years now. I have seen it gentrified throughout the years. Early years, it was not safe to be on public transportation, however it has gotten better. I love the culture and variety of cuisines that are available within this neighborhood. It has been very sad to see many families needed to move because it is unaffordable and instead many individuals in technology are moving in and rent is so expensive.
