I love the fact that CSUEB is on a hill, if there is a robbery or fight we don't get involved or even know about it because the student body is isolated. It is great because it creates the best atmosphere for students to study and have fun because we are near San Francisco and Berkeley, even San Jose. The school has a shuttle free of charge that take you downtown to grab something to eat, go grocery shopping, and even watch a move. That is not it, it also takes you to the Bart station...right in front of it, so it wont be a struggle to go on your journey. The best part? The shuttle passes by every 30min so you have a way back going back to school with your grocery bags or after that long day of commute.
The bay area of Hayward isn't how I would have ever imagined. The people in the city are very friendly and respectful towards others. I love the old-owned restaurants and the distance to San Francisco. From all the other city's in the country that I have been to, I wouldn't do this experience over again because I wouldn't want to replace the great first experiences of being independent and meeting great and wonderful people.
There are a couple vacant/abandoned business lots. Mostly it's apartments, small businesses. I wouldn't rate my particular complex very high. It's okay.
